“Do not worry about tomorrow.” Matthew 6:34 NIV
“Worry does not change things; it just changes you, for the worse.”
My thoughts today are about being “worry free.”
It has been observed that most of the things that people worry about never happen, and the majority of those things that do, are rarely as bad as you had worried they would be. And all of your worry is needless because there is little or anything that you can do to change the things about which you worry. Worry does not change things; it just changes you, for the worse – from peaceful to anxious, from confident to uncertain, from restful to restless, from trusting to struggling. If you could change circumstances, you wouldn’t waste time worrying; you would do what you should and have nothing more to worry about.
Worry could be described as, “borrowing tomorrow’s troubles today!” I have found that does not work all that well. You can find great confidence in God’s promise that “Your strength will equal your days.” Deuteronomy 33:25 NIV. Want a reason why tomorrow can be worry free? Here’s what David found to be true, “Blessed be the Lord, who daily loads us with benefits. The God of our salvation! . . Bless the Lord, o my soul, and forget not all His benefits . . Who forgives, heals, redeems, crowns, and renews!” See Psalm 68:19/103:1-5 NKJV. Benefits! Don’t you like the sound of that? God will give you neither more nor less than is needed, whatever the difficulties of that day.
Here’s how you can be worry free in just four simple steps: (1) worry about nothing, (2) pray about everything, (3) tell God anything, and (4) set your mind on good things. The Bible says, “Don’t worry about anything; instead pray about everything. Tell god what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. If you do this, you will experience peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus . . think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.” See Philippians 4:6-9 NLT. You can do that, if you will. It might be hard to break old habits and routines, but you can and should.
Here’s why you should be worry free: “He will give you all you need from day to day if you live in Him and make the Kingdom of God your primary concern. So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for one day.” Amen to that! Matthew 6:33-34 NLT. See Philippians 4:19 NLT.
My prayer for you today is that every day you place tomorrow back in God’s hands.
