A Blessed Thanksgiving Day to you and your family.
As you gather with family and friends, I pray you will experience the joyous company of the One who promised, “Where two or three come together in My Name, there am I with them.” Matthew 18:20 NIV. May you know and respond to His presence. Count your blessings; they are many. “Giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Ephesians 5:20.
On this Thanksgiving, Gayle and I are grateful for our Father’s providential blessings, innumerable and unmerited. As we gather with our multi-generational family – five generations from 8 months to 93 years old – we will give thanks for the abiding grace of God and the graciousness of others.
Among the many blessings for which we give thanks, Gayle and I are thankful to God for you, the readers of EDL. A rich blessing to my life has been your reception and appreciation for the encouraging ministry of EveryDay Life. Your kind responses and thankful expressions refresh my spirit and rekindle my joy to share God’s Word, “to touch hearts and change lives.”
Being thankful is a lifestyle you choose in accord with God’s Word; giving thanks is your appropriate response to His faithful character and generous benevolence toward you and others.
“Let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” Colossians 3:15-17 NKJV.
Whatever your circumstance on this special day, if you have a thankful heart you will find cause for thanksgiving. “In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18.
